A shower of Sympathy

I made this for three different challenges…I used the FreshlyMade Sketches sketch for this week and from  For Just Add Ink…I colored the violets and stems with SU markers Pear Pizazz and Marina Mist (ret.) and added soft white sequins.   Global Design Project has a “garden” theme this week…so I decided to use blue violets!    Except for the sequins and Simon says sentiment diecuts everything is Stampin UP.  I really love the new SU rectangle diecuts and I used my Stamparatus to make sure my images are crisp! (love that tool) I used a hostess set in the current book “Pressed Flowers.”    My sisters used to press flowers in their books and Bibles, so while I don’t remember ever doing this–I’m thinking it’s all about memory and the act of remembering.   I think they worked beautifully for my sympathy card, and the sketch arrangement makes them appear as if they are raining down.   Thanks for coming by!  Kathy

 

Be Still Card

If you are looking at this card it means that I got it linked to “Just Add Ink.” After being over at blogspot.com for a couple of years I received a notice from Google that seemed to say that they were no longer offering free blogging. I may be jumping the gun, but considering my learning curve I decided to relocate sooner than later. So here I am and thankfully you are too!

To be sure my new place could use a little sprucing up. And hopefully that is just what this card is doing…I think it works well for the sketch this week over at Just Add Ink ! I think the subtle softness of the snowy woods is the perfect back drop for the sentiment from Word Art Wednesday.
